Local Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, in some cases with swastikas, they reported in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.
The fluid had been placed in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then discovered multiple other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials report preliminary tests show the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to its origin; authorities are not yet cognizant of any physical harm in relation with the event," they stated.
Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the community for tips.
An important representative commented the attack left him stunned and had to be addressed promptly.
"This incident strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on social media, mentioning the killing of nine victims by a assailant targeting residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
